Your Ceremony!

There is MUCH more to a wedding ceremony than showing up and saying, “I do”. Many elements of your wedding are based on ritual. Your ceremony is a special event marking your transition from a single life into a life partner. From welcoming your guests to the processional, choosing your words and declaration of intent, to vows, rings, closing remarks and signing the marriage license – there are many things to remember. Being prepared, informed and organized with make this a day to cherish forever.

Planning the Ceremony involves;

Choosing an Officiant; whether you are having a civil, religious or interfaith ceremony will determine who you choose.  Both the location and your Officiant will be a factor.

Deciding a style for your service can impact who what when where and how. Will you Ceremony be more traditional in nature, will there be speeches, sermons or are you and your partner offering input?

The order and sequence of events vary however some things to consider;
  • Opening Words
  • Opening Prayers
  • Consent
  • Walking down the aisle
  • Readings
  • Vows
  • Exchange of Rings
  • Prayers/Affirmation
  • Legal Documents
To obtain a marriage licence and certificate you will need to have your date planned, proof of your current marital status and identification.

You will also have to prepare:
  • Selecting your bridal party, their roles and responsibilities.
  • Seating Plan, Guest book, Transportation (limousine), Flowers/Arrangements/Decorations, Parking
